【 CHEMBA丨2022 Intake 】Welcome New Applications

As participants in the GTP, students develop advanced skills in teamwork, cross-cultural collaboration, and business plan development within a dynamic environment shaped by academic rigor and the demands of real-world international business. Teams present their final business plans during the International Residency in the United States at the end of their degree program.

* International Residency

During a week-long, intensive International Residency course in May, the CHEMBA students and the Vienna Executive MBA students participate together in the final course of their degree program on the Carlson School campus in Minnesota. Students interact with executives at leading Minnesota companies and with top Carlson School faculty during academic course sessions. In addition to the academic rigor of the International Residency course, students have the opportunity to explore the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, home to approximately 20 Fortune 500 companies, and to experience student life on the University of Minnesota campus. The International Residency culminates in the Carlson School Graduate Commencement Ceremony.

CHEMBA Information

Start Date: October 2022

Teaching Structure: Each class is held two consecutive weekends each month

Teaching Location: Sun Yat-Sen University

The last two weeks of the program (in May, 2024) will be in the University of Minnesota, US.

Scholarship:

Carlson School of Management will offer pre-enrolment scholarship for outstanding CHEMBA applicants who apply and are enrolled. The scholarship should be applied for in advance. The Scholarship Review Committee Educational and Professional background, Personal accomplishments，Interview performance and Potential contribution to the CHEMBA programme.

Application Requirements

A bachelor's degree or above from a recognized university or an approved institution. A minimum of 8 years of significant full-time work experience，five years in a managerial position with increasing responsibilities. As the program is taught in English, English proficiency is required. We also value an outstanding record of professional success, sound professional ethics, leadership and sense of responsibility.

A wide range of teaching methods are used by the faculty, including: lectures, business cases and discussions, group projects, and field trips. Grades are based on individual assignments, group assignments, presentations, case analyses, in-class exams, take-home exams, and class participation. The Grade Point Average (GPA) system will be used to evaluate the student’s performance in each course, which is aligned with that used in at the Carlson School of Management. Students must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5(on a 4.0 scale) to satisfy the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree requirements.

Step 2: Document Review and Interview Arrangement

The CHEMBA program office will check application for completeness and the applicable admission requirements. After reviewing all the required documents, CHEMBA office will inform applicants whether he/she will be invited for an admission interview.

Step 3. Admission Interview

Interviews for the CHEMBA program are by invitation only. Candidates will be contacted after the initial review of their application.

Step 4. Admission Decision

Applications are reviewed by the admissions committee which consists of the academic directors and program management team from Sun Yat-Sen University and Carlson School of Management. All admitted candidates will receive a link for the University of Minnesota online application form for the CHEMBA program.

Step 5. Issue of Final Offer

An official offer letter will be issued for the candidates who are eligible for program admission.
